I think it would be nice to have a login bonus each day. It would be a small box that would drop 1000 coins, 500 xp, 10 min XP boost potions, or 5 platinum. What are your suggestions?
Well they could drop the farsight potions instead of just giving 500xp, But I'd say the plat should require consecutive logins so it's a bit harder to get but makes you stick to the game more.
Or just have the drop rate a little less common than the others. I think that this way non P2P players can have a chance to get some of the exclusive items and stuff. This would be a good incentive to login each day.
Exactly, that would allow the community to stay alive. Obviously they need to make some money but who will play and buy stuff if nobody plays in the long run?
This implies that the game is even P2P, which it isn't cause it's free on Steam. And if you possibly meant pay to win, cosmetics have yet to be the cause of someone outperforming me in game. Also, the best mount that can be purchased with platinum is not Member-locked and you can trade gold for platinum. Logging in to get platinum is pretty ridiculous and I could tell you that I, and many others, would abuse the hell out of that. Only way that would work is if it was locked until a certain level and also required you to play for a certain amount of time. It isn't very difficult to make noob accounts and collect free platinum everyday. I would personally suggest that if there were ways to get platinum in game, it would only be possible loot from bosses that don't simply respawn in 5-10 minutes. That would require a degree of effort instead of me hopping on my Wizard and killing Duskin Devil or Ironstar Minotaur in seconds, server swapping, and laughing at the devs as I get platinum for literally pressing a skill.
When I said P2P, I meant it as in you have to pay in order to get any of the "cool" things such as cosmetics or special mounts, not pay to win. Its similar to how back in the day Club Penguin was free but the only way to actually have any unique outfits, own pets, or attend exclusive events was to pay. I am definitely not polarizing this game and pulling it to the side of P2W but simply noting that, at this point, it seems as if it is headed on a similar route. I'm definitely excited to see how the devs are going to handle premium items and cosmetics and have high hopes for this game. Also, if the developers made the daily rewards untradeable and undropable, then it would not be able to be abused. It would simply just be a small incentive to continue logging in and playing each day. Additionally, you're assuming that almost everyday the daily reward would be the platinum and that's foolish considering the devs would obviously make the drop rate lower than the other rewards in order to protect the game's economy. Furthermore, your suggestion of having platinum being dropped from "bosses" that don't re spawn quickly is ill conceived simply because it implies that only the most elite of players would be able to kill these bosses and therefore gain platinum instead of the average player. As you said, someone could simply just time the re spawn of these bosses, server hop, and laugh at the devs. It would make no difference from the current 5-10 respawns of monsters such as the Minotaur or Devil with the exception that now, only the upper most of players get to kill these bosses. It provides no incentive for new comers or those just starting the game, which is the whole point of a daily reward.
